Title: Seeking Change through Imitation, Perpetuating the Literary Tradition: A Review of A Study on the Imitated Poems in the Wei, Jin, Northern and Southern Dynasties — Its Academic Breakthroughs and Pedagogical Implications for Middle School Chinese Teaching
Abstract: Guo Chenguang’s A Study on the Imitated Poems in the Wei, Jin, Northern and Southern Dynasties adopts the research approaches of “cross-dynastic observation, intertextual reference of literary genres, and integration of historical narration and theoretical discussion”. It systematically investigates the origin, evolution and stylistic features of imitative poems in the Wei, Jin, Northern and Southern Dynasties, and puts forward the core thesis that “imitative poetry is a creative method of seeking innovation through imitation”. This book has made remarkable breakthroughs in theoretical innovation, research methodology and academic perspective. The poetic laws revealed in it, such as “learning from classics and innovating in imitation”, can provide theoretical support and practical approaches for the teaching of classical Chinese poetry in middle schools. This paper conducts a comprehensive review from three dimensions: content overview, academic evaluation and teaching transformation, and explores how academic research achievements can be transformed into teaching resources.
